Welcome to our world.
Here's some information about the guys in the band.

About Us
The Predators formed in the spring of 2005. We are based in Reading in Berkshire (UK).

Yes, that’s right – unusually for a rockabilly band, we have a piano, and we all sing, but not always all at the same time.

Here's a little bit of information about each of the guys in the band.

Bobby Title
Web site designer, song writer, bass player, backing vocalist, editor of our newsletter, the guy who does all our bookings.... is there no end to Bobby's talents? Yes, we can report that there certainly is, and reversing large cars into small spaces seems to be where it all goes horribly wrong!

Bizarre claims to fame - regularly writes songs on sick bags, as there is often no other paper handy at 30,000 feet. Now has quite a collection of songs on various different airline sick bags. For a while refused to fly British Airways because their sick bags are dark blue, so he couldn't see what he'd written. Also claims to have appeared naked in a charity calendar, but fortunately no evidence exists (and even if it did, you don't think we'd want it on the website, do you?!).
  • Favourite Food - Curry (with left-over curry for afters)
  • Favourite Drink - Snakebite (or pre-gig, Vodka & Red Bull)
  • Favourite household appliance: Ladder (on account of being so short!)
  • Favourite Singer - Gene Vincent
  • Main musical influence - Neo-Rockabilly

Dave Title
Dave - the man with reputedly more than his fair share of fingers - is a major contributor to our sound. By blending a little old fashioned boogie woogie and some flat out Jerry Lee Lewis style piano pounding into the mix, Dave brings an added dimension to our sound which is missing from many modern day rockabilly bands.

Rumours (probably started by photos such as the one on the right) that Dave likes to appear on stage naked from the waist down are yet to be substantiated. When not pounding on the piano keys, Dave's multiple finges can usually be found tapping away on a calculator, reflecting his role as "band accountant".
  • Main musical influence - Boogie Woogie, Rock'n'Roll
  • Favourite drink - Bitter
  • Favourite game - "Hide the valuable musical instruments down the toilet"

Kev Title
Kev Kerrigan (real name Kev) is not only a phenomenal guitarist, but also our resident scientist, and has developed a mathematical formula to prove that not only does the moon not exist, but that if Bobby stands within two feet of anything larger than himself, he will become permanently locked in orbit around it, unable to break free until struck by a meteor of sufficient mass... Having seen the Meteors back in the early 1980's, Bobby is not particularly keen on being struck by any of them....

Rumoured to be able to play notes that don't even exist, Kev's guitar playing combines rockabilly, blues and rock influences in a style that gives the band its distinctive hard edge.
  • Main musical influence - Blues, Rockabilly, Rock
  • Favourite saying - "Can we try that again in more of a 'Johnny Cash' style, but faster?"

Phil Title
Along with bass player Bobby McGee, the legend that is Phil McGlassup forms part of a rhythm section that has now been playing together for over 14 years. Phil is a man of simple tastes; rock 'n' roll, big fat greasy breakfasts served all day, and lager. Plenty of it, served in nice cold glasses with condensation dripping off the outside. Hang on, I'm off to the fridge....

Because Phil is normally hidden behind a drum kit, a pile of empty pint glasses, or a stack of used Burger King packaging, photos of the great man are few and far between. Phil's other claim to fame (apart from drumming, drinking and backing vocals) is as a van driver extraordinaire, transporting the rest of us and assorted equipment to and from gigs safely and on time. And the less said the better about the incident with the low-flying ladder on the M3, and the time he reversed into the Anvil Theatre in Basingstoke because he didn't see it in his mirror ...
  • Favourite Food - Bacon, sausage, egg, fried slice, beans, egg, mushrooms, bacon, tomato, bacon, bread and butter, black pudding, sausage, hash browns, bacon, and about a pint and a half of warm, sweet tea. Washed down with a pint or two of Fosters, of course...
  • Favourite Drink - Fosters Lager
  • Main musical influence - Straightforward Rock'n'Roll

Rob Title
OK, where do we start writing stuff about our singer Rob? As well as being an experienced singer and huge Brian Setzer fan, Rob also fancies himself as the official band electronic engineer. We have tried to convince him that the position doesn't exist, isn't vacant and doesn't pay well anyway, but he won't listen.
Consequently he spends most of every soundcheck dismantling our equipment, and then hurriedly trying to rebuild it all in time for the gig. We are yet to find either a reason or a cure for this strange behaviour.

Little known fact: Rob is actually married to the band's mascot and resident insane person, "Phylis the Fishwife", who regularly assaults members of the audience with large wet fish, while under the influence of alcopops.
  • Favourite band - Stray Cats
  • Favourite Food - Chinese/Curry
  • Favourite Drink - John Smiths Bitter
  • Favourite saying - "Why the ********* isn't this pedal working?! I took it apart this afternoon, and all the individual bits worked fine."
  • Main musical influence - Neo-Rockabilly, Jump Jive, R&B
